Best.Show.Ever.

Holy crap.

Thank you to everyone who came out to see us last night...it kinda reminded me of what Curse Mackey said at the Pigface show I went to back in '05: "the more you give, the more you get!"  I felt that the audience really helped us to kick some serious ass.  Thanks for showing us some love!  Hope you had as much fun as we did.

Much thanks and admiration to Elete and Pseudokiss Masochist, who both kicked my ass off with their amazing sound.  Speaking of amazing sound, the sound guy did great too...I think that's the first time we've actually had a proper sound check before doors, and monitoring was great...and I was told it sounded pretty good in the house, too.  Likewise, special thanks to Anna and Shannon from Joe's band, ALH, for helping us out with backing vocals on our KMFDM and Rammstein covers.

I was told we got some press notice, so we should be playing again up here at the end of August (when the kids get back to school).  So keep your eye out for future shows!

Entry for June 7, 2008

Remix of Mankind Is Obsolete posted on music page!

And publicly, let us state this: THANK YOU to everyone who saw us at Dark Arts, and thanks to everyone who came even if they missed us, because the event was a LOT of fun, and I think it was probably our best show ever.  Special thanks to Alyx Webb, the band coordinator, and to the whole sound crew for helping us sound our best.  Out of all the bands I saw, I think I was most impressed with Elete...you guys rocked the fuckin' casbah, and I appreciate you catching our set as well.  That's not to detract in any way from the other bands...CO has a wealth of talent!

Colorado Dark Arts Festival, here we come!

That's right, Plasmacrash will be performing at the 2008 Colorado Dark Arts Festival on May 25th!!  I am immensely pleased at having been selected, and despite not making the last one, held in 2005, I feel we are much better prepared this time, as well as having a fuller stage presence and repertoire of songs.  Booking shows is a pain in the ass, and I am ecstatic to be playing an event that is focused on the art and not on marketing ability or commercialism.  It's also a hell of a good way to welcome Rivet back...first show after returning to the US is the event that inspired us to form the band.  Poetic justice.

Here's the deal: the festival is being held at two Denver locations, both Goth spots: Cafe Netherworld (art) and The Church (bands and more art). We recommend you get there early...get your money's worth on admission, and hey, you might find some new bands you like! The sushi bar at the Church is pretty decent as well.  I've not been told what admission will cost this year, but it was 10 bucks in 2006...well worth it for the amount of art on display and number of bands and performing artists you'll get to see.  I greatly missed the festival during its hiatus, so please, come not only to support Plasmacrash, but to support the gothic/industrial scene and the local artists privileged to be represented this year, to ensure a success so future festivals will happen!

Cheers!

Remix Action!
Well, I just completed (a couple days ago) a remix for Encoder's remix contest, which ends May 1st. You may recall that these good fellows remixed our track "Holy Land" a little ways back, so it only stands to reason that I ought to return the favor. The track is "When It Rains", the original of which you can listen to on their Myspace page (see link above). As per their wishes, I will not be posting the remix until Encoder has completed selection of the winner and runner-up tracks; winner to be featured on their next album.

Additionally, NOVAkILL is having a remix contest, which I shall soon undertake. You should also check this link for information on learning synthesizer programming and to get some free plugins / other goodies. These guys make some hardcore music, and my hat is off to them for their dedication to spreading the art of CREATING music, and not only their wicked tunes.

Also of note: Plasmacrash is SEEKING (but not yet confirmed or denied) to play at the Utah Dark Arts Festival (as our own state sadly doesn't appear to be doing one...not since Plasmacrash formed in May 2005) during the last weekend of May. We are also hoping to open for 16 Volt at the beginning of May in Denver (at 3 Kings Tavern...should be a good show, regardless of whether or not we play)...more on that as it comes; cross your fingers for us!

Last, but not least, Plasmacrash is working on a few new tunes of its own. With Rivet due to return shortly and now having a full ensemble, expect more raucous live performances as well. I'm currently halfway done programming a song inspired by Dr. Strangelove called "Purity of Essence", and I have lyrics (but no music) for another song called "Die Sprache" (The Language). Also, given that there is a VERY blurry line between Tantalus Doctrine and Plasmacrash, you may also catch wind of T-Doc track "The Enemy Of My Enemy" (programming mostly completed, needs some tweaking).

In short, it's good to be back at it!

-Tim

PS - When Rivet gets back, we will most likely be having a "Welcome Back Rivet" party, which ironically is also (approximately) Plasmacrash's third anniversary! More info on that as we know it...it may consist merely of bar hopping, or perhaps a full-on BBQ.

The gang's all here!
Hey kids, we're a full sized band now. For those of you who don't already know, we've added a drummer and a bassist to our roster. So everybody welcome our two newest members, Joey Gunn and Kevin Lawless! More information about them can be found under the band section, so check them out.
